Psalm 121 - Learn to renew faith and ask for protection
Julie Mathieu

O Psalm 121 This is one of the Bible verses most loved by Christians, because David, after the death of his last friend, turned to the Lord as the only help he had left. Thus, this Psalm is used by Christians for the renewal of faith and also to ask for protection, especially when we are walking on a difficult journey. See it now!

Psalm 121

1 I will lift up mine eyes unto the mountains, from whence cometh my help.

2 My help comes from the Lord who made heaven and earth.

3 He shall not let thy foot waver: he that keepeth thee shall not shear.

4 Behold, the keeper of Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

5 The Lord is he who keeps you; the Lord is your shade at your right hand.

6 The sun shall not trouble you by day, nor the moon by night.

7 The Lord will keep you from all evil; He will guard your soul.

8 The Lord will guard your entry and exit, from this time on and forever.

What Psalm 121 says

The renewal of our faith is important, for God is all power, the one who made heaven and earth. Therefore, He can do everything. There is no difficulty that He will not help us to overcome and no moment of sadness that He will not support us.

God is present everywhere to defend us. He is our Guardian and his gracious power will illuminate every step we take. We cannot think of any place, no matter how remote, where he will not be with his defense.

To protect you, the Lord will keep you from all evil and ensure the safety of your soul. If the soul is kept, everything is kept. What are we without faith? That is the main word of Psalm 121.

We feel this way in our lives at different times. We may feel estranged from God because of some moral and ethical lapse. In such cases, it is important to remember that God hears our prayers and accepts our sincere repentance. And so, pray Psalm 121 to draw closer to God again.

We may still feel emotionally unstable, but our emotions do not determine the extent to which God loves us and wants to help us to be healed and restored. "God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything," assures the apostle John.

The importance of using Psalm 121

If we are in a moment of spiritual confusion or discouragement, or even at times when things are going well for you, Psalm 121 can give us the confidence to face some journey, because its verses give us several statements about God's unceasing care.

In addition to praying Psalm 121, pray other Psalms to better understand the Lord's word. Remember that God loves us and always answers our prayers. By trusting and acknowledging God, we affirm our overall faith.
